  • 226 g powdered sugar3 large egg whites40 g superfine sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
  • Food coloring
  • Cooking spray

For Buttercream
  • 1/2 c. unsalted butter
  • 3/4 c. powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract

Method
  • Before starting making the cookies you must preheat the oven to 300°.
  • Grease your baking sheets with cooking spray and line with parchment paper.
  • Beat 3 large egg whites, cream of tartar, and lil bit of salt.
  • When the mixture becomes frothy add superfine sugar. If you don't have superfine sugar you can grind the sugar using a blender. Afterward, beat until egg whites are stiff and frothy.
  • Add your food coloring (macaron looks well presentable in Christmas red, Mint green, Rose pink, and Neon blue colors). Beat until the color combines with the mixture well.
  • In this step, fold dry ingredients (almond flour and powdered sugar) into beaten egg whites with a spatula until it flows like thick lava.
  • Transfer the batter into a piping bag with a 1/4-inch round tip. Pipe batter into 1-inch circles. There should be enough spacing (at least 1 inch) between each circle as they become larger when baking. It will be perfect to use a macaron baking mat for this.
